The Board of the Mosaics Fine Art Festival is committed to safety first in presenting our festival on September 17-19, 2021, on Historic North Main Street in St. Charles, MO. The well-being of our artists, attendees, volunteers and staff is our top priority!
We remain dedicated to preserving the community spirit of creation, participation and appreciation of the arts. In order to ensure we can deliver our traditional experience to you as safely as possible, we are joining the Missouri Arts Council in certifying and pledging to adhere to a core level of safe practices. These guidelines and our recommendations may change as COVID-19 conditions warrant.

==================================

Our Missouri ArtSafe Pledge
To ensure that we may Create Safely, Present Safely, and
Attend Safely, we pledge:

Facial Coverings:
We recommend that all patrons within the close proximity of an artist’s booth (the artist as well) wear a mask. Food and beverage vendors are requested to wear masks. All festival staff (board members and volunteers) are required to be masked.

Social Distancing:
Vendors and artist booths will be spaced appropriately for social distancing. Our seating for enjoying music will be spaced and monitored. Our festival is outdoors and well ventilated, providing the ideal location for safety. We count on the community to be respectful of others, and their own safety regarding close contact.

Health Checks and Contact Tracing:
Our event is open and free to all festival attendees and Historic Main Street tourists. Due to the public nature of our festival venue, with direct street access, we cannot do health checks or tracing of attendees. Our artists and volunteers will complete a health screening questionnaire and temperature check upon sign-in. We ask you to please stay home if you are not feeling well, or are exhibiting any COVID-19 symptoms.

Contactless Experience:
No ticketing required. We have cancelled the Children’s Village tent for 2021 – we don’t feel we can safely do hands-on art projects with groups of children this year. We will leave the Art Shop for Kids intact, as it can be safely monitored with no contact. Artists are encouraged to arrange their booths and sales transactions to minimize contact.

Reduced Capacity:
For 2021, we will reduce the maximum capacity from 100 booths down to 80 booths, so we can better maintain social distancing. Vendors are limited. Entertainment staging and meal services are still being reexamined in light of safety concerns and reduced business participation.

Enhanced Sanitation and Hygiene:
Hand sanitizer will be provided to each artist booth and vendor, with sanitizer stations available throughout the festival, if needed after transactional contact or handling artwork. Artists and vendors are asked to keep their booth surfaces cleansed regularly.

Training and Communication:
Board members (festival staff) are trained in COVID-19 safety. We will post our safety plan on our website and share in our social media / festival program. Tape markers and signage will be used to remind participants to sanitize, mask, and distance.

#moartsafe
We are in compliance with all local safety plans: currently masking and social distancing are not mandated by the City of St. Charles, MO. As we hope much of our population will be vaccinated by the dates of our event, we will continue to monitor the CDC, state agency, and local government guidelines in order to update our plan, signage and requests to our artists in how the event should be handled.

Attendees at The Mosaics Fine Art Festival voluntarily assume all risk for exposure to COVID-19, and are attending with full knowledge of the risks related to large public events.
